Introduction

Welcome to the VROC development website. This website is here to allow you to test the upcoming new version of the venerable VROC service, a lobby/marshalling service for online simracing.

Important note:
This new version of VROC currently provides support for Redline Developments' GTP mod, Richard Burns Rally (thanks to Donny Tytgat) and NASCAR Racing 2003. It does not (yet) provide support for Grand Prix Legends. For GPL, please use WinVROC for the time being. Support for GPL and other sims is planned for the near future.

Important request for GTP and NASCAR direct IP hosts:
When hosting by direct IP on VROC, please edit the bcast_send_freq setting in core.ini to something a lot higher than 4 seconds (for example: bcast_send_freq=60.0). Thanks!

Quick Start

Once VROC has started, go into the Tools->Options menu and configure your simulations and one or both of the chat network options. Note that you should click Apply on each screen after changing the options. When you are done, just close the options window (there's no OK button yet, sry). Also note that there are 2 chat options, one for ShadowWorld, which is the network the old WinVROC uses, so you'll find #GPL on ShadowWorld in addition to the new #GTP channel. The other chat uses the QuakeNet network.

Disclaimer: VROC is still alpha-quality software. We know there are lots of areas in which in can and should improve - and it will. We will continue the development of VROC as fast as possible, and with its automatic update feature, you'll be able to benefit immediately from any improvements we'll make.
